Episode 45 - Hoping the Motorhome Will Sell

Saturday 5 December 2015 - I found a place I can make about 3 more cubic feet of usable space...on top of the house batteries. It is currently wasted space, but by putting a milk crate on top of the bar that holds down the batteries, then stabilizing the crate, I can use the space. All I have to do is make sure that nothing can move or make contact with any of the wiring. I'll have to bring a 2X4 from the motorhome tomorrow morning to finish the work. The rest of today was spent trying to reduce the size of the piles of "stuff" from the motorhome. It's a slow process shuffling things around and deciding what stays and what goes. At some point I'm going to have to dig out all the pots and pans that the previous owner left, compare theirs with mine, then toss some and repack. This isn't like filling a few shelves and drawers, it's more like packing for an expedition.

Sunday 6 December - I finished the battery compartment and filled it, then worked on the galley, heads, and staterooms. Several items that I tried to put is spaces were just 1/2" too big for the opening. The space would have been fine, but the opening too small...or the item too big to get through the hole into the large space inside.

Monday 7 December - "Pearl Harbor Day, the day that will live in infamy" - Nobody seems to remember that. - All day spent moving things around on the boat. That evening, I received an offer to help sell the motorhome by adding it to several other websites that specialize in RV's and I took it. Nothing to lose but $300 and everything to gain if it helps sell it.

Tuesday 8 December - I spent much of the day taking more photographs of the motorhome for the new sites. They used the ones I had taken, but wanted even more...a total of about 40. I hope it pays off soon.

Wednesday 9 December - Last night I drove up to St. Petersburg about 40 miles away at about 10pm in order to avoid heavy traffic so I could get to the VA medical center early for one final check-up before I head south. Everything's fine, plus I got a couple more vaccinations, one for this year's flu and the other for pneumonia. This took up much of the day and I returned to Palmetto and had a great Mexican dinner and wine margarita. The restaurant has no hard liquor license, thus the wine...and the drink tastes fine. Not as good, or as large, as the margaritas at El Chihuahua in SLC, but pretty good, and they're only $4.
I didn't get much done on the boat today.
I'm getting more calls by people that see the motorhome on the street than I am from the ads on the internet.

            Until next time,
